In a [cheaper] new york state of mind..

A food blog dedicated to overcoming the woes of surviving on a wallet-friendly budget! Times are hard, and with the race to find jobs as well the the unfortunate escalating subway fare, I've decided to take matters into my own hands - and use them to cook creatively and resourcefully!

I am also an advocate of happy hour for a few important reasons including, but not limited to: 1. drinking from 5-7pm is totally acceptable any day of the week, 2. free food is often included, and 3. who doesn't love a $2 Fat Tire?

I scout out the best drink deals during the week and weekend via fantastic websites like Time-Out New York and The Skint - or doing the legwork myself - it's a tough job.

So here's to cheap drinks, happy tummies, and full[er] wallets!
